I am Alive...

I wanted to start this post with saying that I am alive and well. Life has been pretty crazy lately but I wanted to write a post letting everyone know what has been happening the last two weeks.
On Friday April 10th I was having some contractions and some weird pains so I decided to go into the hospital to make sure everything was okay. They hooked me up to some heart monitor machines and a couple of times when I had a contraction Jackson's heat rate went very low. So they decided to keep me in the hospital and induce me. I was suppose to get induced two days later so they figured it was okay. The funny part was that one of my best friends Valynn was having a baby two rooms down from me. We thought we would have our kids on the same day but it didn't happen. So I went to the hospital at 4:00pm and little Jackson was born at 1:20am Saturday morning April 11th. He weighed 7lbs 1oz and was 19.5 inches long. He is such a beautiful baby.
After he was born he started turning kind of grey so they brought him down to the nursery to give him some air. I did get to hold him for a second which I was very grateful for. The next day he was getting worse and by the next day even worse. He was having a hard time breathing on his own without help. Then on Monday morning at 1:30am I got a call from his doctor saying that they were going to put him on a ventilator and transfer him to Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo. Tim and I watched our little guy get loaded up on the ambulance and it was one of the hardest things to watch. It was so sad for us to see now our second child have to go to the NICU. So we were up all night making sure Jackson was taken care of that by the next day we were so tired. When he got to the hospital he also had Jaundice so he was under the lights for a couple of days as well. He had many IV's for possible infections, the lights for jaundice, and his ventilator. I felt so bad for him and I could hardly touch him because he was in so much pain, it was awful to watch. But everyday more things starting coming off of him.
Also last week Matt got a really bad sinus infection and he didn't feel good, and our basement flooded. So last week was seriously a week that I never want to have again. But I am so thankful for family and friends who are so willing to help us when we really needed it. So this week has been better, Jackson is doing better and better each day and eating like a champ. He eats so much food and even the nurses were saying that they've never seen a baby eat so much! What a strong boy I have! So hopefully he'll get to go home tomorrow that's the plan right now and I promise that next time I update I will have lots of cute pictures of Jackson. I just wanted to let everyone know what happened and give you a heads up about our life right now! Until next time!

Oh, and I'm sorry to hear about your basement! The same thing happened to us! Stupid Lehi, and stupid 6" of snow that all melted in 1/2 a day! I'm sure that was the last thing you needed that week!
