Tribute to my Dad...

Here is to my wonderful dad! For those of you who haven't heard my dad passed away on Aug 1 at 6:15 pm. He had some blood clots in his abdomen that the doctor's couldn't get under control and it eventually shut down all of his organs. He had never been sick or in the hospital in his life up to this point. He was in the hospital for about 3 days until he died. He was only 55 years old.
I am so grateful for my dad and for all that he taught me. He taught me how to have a sense of humor, how to laugh at my mistakes, and how to truly love everyone for who they are. He is such an amazing man and the best part of this experience is that I'm not scared of where he is now. I know that he's with heavenly father and I'm so grateful that he gets to be with them and that he doesn't have to worry about earthly things anymore. This picture above was on the 4th of July with Matt. Matt still talks about how they watched fireworks together. He misses his grandpa a lot.

I know that our family will be together forever and I'm so grateful for this knowledge that I have. If I didn't have this knowledge I know that I would not be doing that good right now.

This is my dad's last birthday. Of course he has Matt with him because he always has Matt wherever he is. These two had so many good times together.

I love my dad with all my heart and I miss him so much already. I know that it will be tough without him but I know he's watching out for all of us and that someday I will get to see him again. I love you dad with all my heart and I'm so grateful that I am your daughter. You are the best dad I could have ever asked for!

Shannon - I love the pictures and am so sorry to have heard of your Dad's passing. We all loved him. I just told your mom on facebook a few weeks ago how much your oldest son looks like Dan. And you are right, you now have someone to watch over you all and, in my opinion, you've got the best of the best!

I was so glad that I was able to be at your dad's funeral. I didn't have a lot of memories with him, but the few I did have were the same as everyone else remembers. A lovable guy with a sense of humor! I'm so sorry you had to lose him so early! It made me bawl when you were talking about how close him and Matt are and how Matt's not going to have him anymore! You guys are rocks! So strong! We love you!

What an amazing tribute to your dad. He is such a wonderful and inspirational guy and he had the ability to remember everyone he's met and treat you like he's known you for such a long time!

I am so sorry that I wasn't able to make it to the funeral, it was Alexis' birthday and her party ran longer than I had hoped. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and I would love to help out if you could use any.
